Kotor Winter Carnival

The Kotor Winter Carnival is one of the most vibrant events in Montenegro, held every February in the historic town of Kotor. In 2026, the carnival celebrations are scheduled to take place from February 6 to February 15.

The carnival opens with festivities in the central squares and features a wide range of events. Masked processions move through the main streets of the Old Town, while participants and spectators create a lively street atmosphere filled with music, dancing, and laughter.

The program also includes special events for children, such as children’s carnivals, mask-making workshops, and small parades. Evening programs often feature masquerade balls and live music concerts.

The carnival traditionally concludes with a large final procession, street performances, and a festive atmosphere in the center of Kotor, where guests and participants gather to mark the end of the carnival celebrations.
